A part of dentistry in which the restoration and maintenance of oral function is done. They are done by the replacement of missing teeth and by artificial substitutes as by denture, crown, bridge and implants.

Bachelors of Dental Surgery and Masters of Dental Surgery students here learn the basic preclinical Prosthodontic work from the first year to last year of BDS and thorough research and clinical prosthodontic work for MDS students.

The department is well equipped with most modern instruments & is being managed by well qualified teaching faculty members & under the guidance of Dr. KISHAN SINGH, Professor& Head.

The research work is being carried to provide affordable treatment. The idea is to generate teaching material in the form of patient,for the BDS students as well as under the speciality patient care to the needy.

To achieve the aim & objective, senior teaching faculty is working hard round the clock.

UNDERGRADUATE CURRICULUM

The undergraduate training begins from first year BDS onwards & continues till the final year.

The students learn the basic preclinical Prosthodontic work & manipulation of dental materials in first & second BDS. Students are trained to fabricate removable and fixed ,complete & partial dentures during their academic session.

POSTGRADUATE CURRICULUM

The teaching programme for post graduate students is strictly followed as per the regulation of Dental council of India. That includes includes preclinical and clinical curriculum. Training is given in complete denture,removable partial denture , fixed Prosthodontics, maxillofacial prosthetics, Implant dentistry, esthetic dentistry & TMJ and occlusion related cases.

INTRODUCTION

Prosthodontics is one of eight recognised specialities of dentistry. Prosthetic dentistry is the dental specialitywhich deals with the diagnosis ,treatment planning,rehabilitationand maintenance of the oral function,comfort,appearance & health of patients & clinical conditions associated with missing and deficient teeth and/or oral and maxillofacial tissues using biocompatible substitutes.

UNDERGRADUATE CURRICULUM

The replacement of the natural teeth in the arch & their associated parts by artificial substitutes.

UG students replaces the missing teeth and supporting tissues with the prostheses designed to be removed by the wearer.

UG students perform different tooth preparation methods for making fixed partial denture.

POSTGRADUATE CURRICULUM

The replacement of the natural teeth in the arch & their associated parts by artificial substitutes.
